Joint Task Force Heavy [HVY] - Rank Expectations and Tasks 09/03/2019


This document serves as a guide to the tasking and approximate duration required of each rank in the JTFH ranking structure. Please note that this is a guide: performance, teamwork, ability to carry out orders are all major factors in advancement. Be aware that advancement can happen sooner than stated by JTFH Command if billets need to be filled in an emergency.


TAG EXPLANATION:

[HVY-CO] = Commanding Officer of JTF Heavy [HVY]
[HVY-XO] = Executive Officer of JTF Heavy [HVY]
[HVY-DO] = The Director of Operations chooses and schedules mission priorities for all squadrons under JTFH. This includes scheduling and tasking for combat missions, and training flights of various categories.

[HVY](CO) = Commanding Officer of Squadron
[HVY](XO) = Executive Officer of Squadron

Field-grade Officers:

O-8, Rear Admiral - Upper

1- Meets O-7 Prerequisite.
2- Oversees Squadron flight operations as a whole.
3- Approves or rejects squadron-level alliances.
4- Approves or rejects Squadron-sanctioned events.
5- Participates in Squadron sorties.
6- Participates in Squadron training missions.

7- Time In Grade: Two months minimum.
 
O-7, Rear Admiral - Lower

1- Meets O-6 Prerequisite.
2- Approves or rejects squadron-level alliances.
3- Approves or rejects Squadron-sanctioned events.
4- Participates in Squadron sorties.
5- Participates in Squadron training missions.

6- Time In Grade: Two months minimum.


O-6, Colonel, Col -

1- Meets O-5 Prerequisite.
2- Approves or rejects court-martials of Squadron members.
3- Handles diplomacy issues between [HVY]Squadron and outside squadrons, with approval of the Rear Admiral.
4- Participates in Squadron sorties.
5- Participates in Squadron training missions

6- Time In Grade: Two months minimum.


O-5, Lieutenant Colonel, LtCol -

1- Meets O-4 Prerequisite.
2- Plans Squadron flights, writes tasking orders for said sorties.
3- Handles diplomacy issues between [HVY]Squadron and outside squadrons, with approval of the Colonel.
4- Participates in Squadron sorties.
5- Participates in Squadron training missions.

6- Time In Grade: Two months minimum.


O-4, Major, Maj -

1- Meets O-3 Prerequisite.
2- Handles Clerical duties in relation to Squadron Documents for training, and digitization of written documents. (Certain Slots)
3- Approves new aviators and assigns said pilot's flight.
4- Participates in Squadron sorties.
5- Participates in Squadron training missions.
6- Minimum Rank to obtain Commanding Officer status in any given Squadron. 

7- Time In Grade: Two months minimum.

O-3, Captain, Capt -


1- Meets O-2 Prerequisite.
2- Minimum rank required to be a Flight Leader.
3- Minimum Rank to obtain Executive Officer status in any given Squadron.
4- Must pass Leadership Training Course to obtain and surpass rank. (FUTURE IMPLEMENTATION)
5- Participates in Squadron sorties.
6- Participates in Squadron training missions.
7- Time In Grade: Two months minimum.



O-2, First Lieutenant, 1stLt -

1- Meets O-1 Prerequisite.
2- Participates in Squadron sorties.
3- Participates in Squadron training missions.
4- Time In Grade: Two months minimum.


O-1, Second Lieutenant, 2ndLt -

1- Meets W-5 Prerequisite.
2- Participates in Squadron sorties.
3- Participates in Squadron training missions.
4- Time In Grade: Two months minimum.

Warrant Officers:



W-5, Chief Warrant Officer 5 -

1- Meets W-4 Prerequisite.
2- Displays ability to follow commands of superior officers.
3- Participates in Squadron sorties.
4- Participates in Squadron training missions.
5- Time In Grade: 
One month minimum.


W-4, Chief Warrant Officer 4 -

1- Meets W-3 Prerequisite.
2- Displays ability to follow commands of superior officers.
3- Participates in Squadron sorties.
4- Participates in Squadron training missions.
5- Time In Grade:
One month minimum.


W-3, Chief Warrant Officer 3 -

1- Meets W-2 Prerequisite.
2- Displays ability to follow commands of superior officers.
3- Participates in Squadron sorties.
4- Participates in Squadron training missions.
5- Time In Grade: Three weeks minimum.


W-2, Chief Warrant Officer 2 -

1- Meets W-1 Prerequisite.
2- Displays ability to follow commands of superior officers.
3- Participates in Squadron sorties.
4- Participates in Squadron training missions.
5- Time In Grade: Three weeks minimum.



W-1, Warrant Officer 1 -

1- Meets (R) Prerequisite.

2- Demonstrates ability to operate radio equipment and can communicate with proper radio comms procedures; passes Basic Check-flight.
3- Participates in Squadron sorties.
4- Participates in Squadron training missions.
5- Time In Grade: Three weeks minimum.

Recruits:



R - Recruit (Basic)

1- Fills out proper Squadron application and receives approval from O-1 or above.
2- Acknowledges Squadron Code of Conduct.
3- Switches in-game tag to precisely match their newly issued Discord tags.

4- Has SRS installed and operational.
5- Flies with Squadron on training flights of any approved type.
6- Learns Squadron Standard Operating Procedures (Airport Procedures and Radio Etiquette) .
7- Complete Basic Check Flight with Satisfactory performance before obtaining W-1.

8- Time In Grade: One week minimum.
