Joint Task Force Heavy has been tasked with the liberation of the Qeshm and Sirri Islands, North of Oman in the Persian Gulf.
Intelligence has confirmed that the Iranian Government have been receiving military, infrastructure, and financial assistance from China in the recent months, culminating in a military build up in the region that has already had serious regional repercussions. Locals in the area are reporting widespread criminal activities by occupying forces, including murder, rape, destruction of property, and theft of property. Aid to said areas have been ramped up, but a few strongholds are making the complete liberation of Qeshm very tedious. The first strike took place by JTF Heavy elements from the 484th Squadron, 509th Squadron, VMA-290, VFC-119, and VMFA-390 on Sunday, January 13th, 2019 at 12:00pm - with success to the degree that ground elements were dropped via parachute to assist with the fighting on the ground. The next few weeks will be critical in how the region will be able to recover from such actions, and the enemy has not been completely eradicated. -JTFHCOM

With the start of the new year, we are doing great things right off:
From our (outstanding) recruiting numbers, to the amount of upcoming missions and training flights, we will be busy this year. (We gained 9 pilots since January 1st to bolster the ranks to (36 active pilots), (9 reserve pilots). A big thanks go to the following JTF Heavy members who have really stepped it up and added their knowledge and expertise to better our organization as a whole: Fang - JTF Heavy Dedicated Server Mission Development and Scripting Sir Robert - JTF Mission Planning Kazyn - JTF Mission Scripting AngryCanadian - Checklists for Classroom KomandoKorndog - Kneeboard Development Shock - JTF Heavy and VMA-290 Patches Rakkis - Air Traffic Control GFL Snake - Dedicated Server Owner Together, we are developing a great community of dedicated combat flight simmers, who are learning, teaching, and making the DCS experience outstanding for all of us. IN OTHER NEWS: Operation Westwind was successful, but intelligence suggests that JTF Heavy will be facing reinforcements from Northern Iran and China in response to our airstrike on the 13th of January. Satellite photos show that we wiped out approximately 65% of the intended targets, but left key installations that made it somewhat easier for the Iranians to resupply and this time, with more air cover. This was counterbalanced by the fact that we had very few losses or mechanical problems in any Squadron. Operation Westwind continues on January 27th, as we have received a much needed resupply and planning break. Please prepare, understand the systems of your aircraft to their fullest - you will need to employ your training. Keep in mind that we do not have an option for CSAR, the AO is much too dangerous for rotary aircraft. Make smart decisions and be ready to fly crippled aircraft back to Tunb or Khasab Airbases. See you on the flight line, [HVY-CO(0-6)]VooDoo |
